I dont want to get something very expensive, I particularly like the look of various colored gemstones in a bracelet or necklace. Does anyone know of some good online jewelry stores…

What type of jewellery is best suited for a cartilage piercing?

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

Whats the best jewellery (Barbell, Capture ring or stud?)

and whats the best type (stainless steel, titanium, gold)
u know that kinda stuff
please help
It's a helix piercing… if that helps any!
what kind would be best suited for that
Also it 14gauge hole.

Depends on what type of cartilage piercing you have (i.e. industrial,rook,tragus,snug,daith,anti-tragus,etc.)

It also depends on the gauge of the hole in the cartilage too.

Can I leave my earrings out overnight once the 6 week healing period is finished?

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

I have had my ears pierced for 3 weeks now but I can’t get used sleeping with earrings in. My wife says that I should keep earrings in 24/7 for at least the first 6 months, I hope not because I can’t get used wearing them in bed.

I’d say no. In the first six months to a year after I got my ears pierced, the holes would shrink a little even if I left my earrrings out for two or three hours. Overnight they’d practically close. After the 6 week period, however, you could but some new, smaller earrings which might irritate you less.

How can I make really easy friendship bracelets?

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

I want to make friendship bracelets with kids aged between three and seven and so they have to be really, really easy! I have access to loads of craft stuff, and would particularly like to stick fun stuff onto them like feathers (although ideas without this bit would be just as good!). Does anybody have any ways of make really, really easy bracelets?

hello! how about you take some colorful string and show the children how to braid them? you can do a lot of fun and cool things with braids, like braid a bead in them here and there, i am also pretty sure, that you can weave in a feather if you would like to. the kids would have a blast and would be very proud of their colorful creations! good luck with the craft, and have fun!

How many beads would each student get in this problem?

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

Jan, Pedro, Malcolm, Juanita, and Shelley were going to make beaded jewelry to sell at the craft booth from beads they had collected. They decided that Jan would get 1/3 of the beads, Pedro would get 1/4 of the beads, Malcolm would get 1/6 of the beads, Juanita would get 1/8 of the beads, and Shelley would get 1/9 of the beads.

not enough information. there is no total, no necessary info.

where is a good place to sell soulja boy rubberband necklaces?

Sunday, December 28th, 2008

i make soulja boy rubberband necklaces and sell them at mi skool. i got caught for "marketing an item" watever that means. lol where is another place i can sell them?

phreshprincess has a good point…. you can also sell them by asking your friends at school and then on the bus or on your way home, you can give them the merchandise and they can give you the money. Also, you can sell them online by getting your own website or selling them on Ebay.

Another idea is to "give" your friends the necklaces but all they have to do is "donate" however much the cost is…. There are organization that do this and as far as I know….this isnt against the rules because I did it a like last year….
But, I didn't do it publicly…yeah, I walked around with my big bright candy bar box but I didnt put up signs and stands so dont do stuff like that, in high school/middle school, things get around by word of mouth.

How can I find out the jewelry company that made my ring?

Sunday, December 28th, 2008

I have this silver ring that I love and my mom wants one bad. I want to give it to her as a gift. The problem is that I got it at a show from a silver vendor. I have looked for it at all the jewelry stores in my area and no one has it. One store looked in several catalogs but we couldn't find it. There is a hallmark stamp but the jeweler was not familiar it. They said I may be able to search online in a jewelry trademark directory to find the manufacturer and then they would be willing to order it for me if I can't buy direct. I don't know where to look. I looked at the US trademark website but couldn't find it. The jeweler said there is an online guide somewhere because not all hallmarks are registered nationally but instead is used to identify the company, artist etc. If I can't find it, I will have to leave the ring so they can do a search.

Precious metal jewelry must be stamped with the metal hallmark and the manufacturer sign/logo/stamp. Look for this sign with a magnifier glass and take a photo of the sign using maximal zoom possible.
Ask the question again, pointing to the photo at the rec.crafts.jewelry usenet group: http://groups.google.com/group/rec.crafts.jewelry
Many US and international professionals are on this group. If this is a well known manufacturer, some might recognize the sign.
Good luck,
Sarit.

how long will it take for jewellery ppl to change a diamond stone from a ring?

Sunday, December 28th, 2008

I want to know how much minimum time will it take to change a diamond stone from a ring for the jewellery ppl. Will it take more than 5 mins or even less? If anybody knows it correctly please do advise immediately. The ring has a 0.7 carat diamond stone on it. And is it easy to change that stone?
ring has a 4 prong setting round cut diamond on it. is it easy to take that stone?

it will take more than five minutes. depending on the store, it may take a few days because there are other factors that affect how long it will take, not just size of the stone. are you the first person in line to get your stone changed? if not, its gonna take longer. what type of setting is it in? if its a prong setting, might not take so long. if its a pave setting, could take a little longer. bare min it is definatly going to take probably at least an hour. they need to not only set the stone but then re adjust the setting to make sure it stays in. so dont get impatient, you will be without the ring for a while, probably a couple days regardless of how long the actual process of changing the dimond takes. other people have stuff to get fixed, setting may make things more complicated, they have to match the stone to any other stones that may be on the ring, all sorts of stuff affect time.

What are the earrings called that connect from your upper ear cartilage to your ear lobe with a little chain?

Sunday, December 28th, 2008

I've seen these great earrings in a movie: they are connected at the upper ear and go down in a little chain to the regular earring place, the lobe, but I don't know what they're called or where I can get them… please help me anyone who knows something! thanx!

ugly.

but you would get cartilage pierced and a normal lobe, then go to a girly store like icing or claires and they should have a earring that connects the both with a little chair. if your a sucker for pain too, they have fake one that only pierce the bottom then the top part it a bendable ring you can clip to the top of your ear. this was "hott" in the mid-ninties when janet jackson peaked.
