Where can i find good deals for all kinds of Beads in Bangalore?

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

I'm planning to visit Bangalore in mid July for the 1st time and will only be there for 2-3 days. I'm really interested in buying beads (all kinds, all sizes, all shapes, all shades) ect. Can anyone tell me where i could find the best bargains from?

If you are Ok with walking in the busiest and narrow roads and ready to explore, go to Fifth Ave (???!) near city market. You can enter this area either from Majestic (from Majestic Theater) or the one near Sapna book stores or from the Mysore Bank intersection. You can also enter this place from the City Market, Bangalore.

Each streets are specialised in some sort. Couldn't guide you to exact street. Check with the local vendors.

If you like some space to breath and near by MG Road, get into Commercial Street. You will see lanes branching out from Commercial street. Step into any of those and you will find lot of shops selling beads, cloth bits etc. More shops are close by the West Side store in commercial street.

It may be slightly expensive than you found in City Market shops.

How do I get leather rope – used for necklaces more pliable?

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

I used leather cord from beading stores – some don't lay very well. I thought I had read that you can condition the leather – to make necklaces more pliable – is there something I can use w/o changing the color too much?

soak it in water overnight then dry it

How much does a fashion jewellery shop earn a day?

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

can anyone help me tellin me how much small shops who sell fashion jewellery earn? i am planning to sell all my items below 5 pounds who can tell me how much i would earn if i sell in london uk? the rent of the shop is 440 per month, is that reasonable?
how do you mean a company what company?

WELL IT DEPENDS ON THE AMOUNT (POUND WISE) AND HOW MUCH THE MARKET IS GOING FOR AT THE TIME OF SALE,ALSO, MOST JEWELRY SHOPS PAY PER COMISSION, BY EACH PIECE THEY SELL, ALL COMPANYS ARE DIFFERENT, IF YOUR JEWELRY SELLS FOR CHEAPER THAN THE GUYS NEXT DOOR, THEN YOURS WILL SELL FIRST,MEANING YOU WILL MAKE MORE, USUALLY IT IS BY EACH PIECE SOLD, I HOPE THIS HELPS SOME. Is a nurse allowed to wear earrings while she is on the job?

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

My wife is going to college to become a nurse. She has been told by friends that nurses aren't allowed to wear earrings while working. Is this true?

She currently has ten earrings in each ear.

I must admit that I've never noticed any of the nurses at my doctor's offices wearing earrings. In fact, the most I've seen on them is a watch.

It's a safety issue, that's all. Things happen beyond our foresight and jewelry creates a risk.

How do magnetic bracelets help with pain?

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

I have heard lots of people talk about magnetic bracelets and necklaces and how they help relieve pain. Is it true? and if so, how do they work? Thanks

The magnetic bracelets and necklaces are called hematite and it's a natural mineral-metal derived from the earth, I think volcanic. It does have the ability to break up magnetic energy and particles in the build and gives it a natural grounding effect, thus redirecting pain and taking down inflammation in the muscles and tendons by keeping the toxins flowing out of the build and not being blocked or hindered.
When the body is in pain, it becomes inflamed because the sensors start sending out distress signals to the brain and then the brain tells the body to go heal it, thus blocking toxins and cellular build up in a isolated area. The hematite breaks the party up so it works like a traffic stoplight to allow the correct amount of flow of energy in the body and control the congestion. Get one you won't be sorry.
PS if you get a headache and you are wearing it on the right-side, switch it to the left side of the body, the headache will subside.

What's the best way to attach small sequins and beads to cards or scrapbooks?

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

Hi

Just starting out with cardmaking and have got some embellishment kits. These include some very delicate items like tiny white beads with holes in and various sequins.

Do I attach these to cards with double-sided tape, foam pads, pritt stick, pva or something else? Any tips on this would be appreciated.

Many thanks for your time.

Attach them with glue but to make it easier, use a paintbrush. Simply dip the fine paintbrush (only a little) into the glue and dab it onto whatever area you like. Then to attach them use tweezers (clean ones).
This leaves you with a clean and polished card or scrapbook page!!! :)

What is the name of the jewelry store in Albuquerque, New Mexico that sells the unique heart necklaces?

Sunday, January 25th, 2009

I was in Albuquerque, New Mexico last Feb. and fell in love with one of the neckalces on these giant bill boards posted around the city. It was around Valentine's day, so they were everywhere. The store had sold out of the necklace I wanted, but said they'd be getting more in and gave me a card. I lost the card. Go figure. I need to know the name of the store, and if they still have those necklaces. To the best of my memory, there was a gold chain with a neat heart pendant.

Try "Mati" – That's the first one that pops to mind when you say billboard. They make custom jewelry, they are usually larger pieces using more obscure stones.

I'm trying to think of who else advertises jewelry on the billboards – Gertrude Zachary maybe… or Silverman's -

Hope that helps.

Was the billboard necklace specific to Valentine's day? I seem to remember Butterfield's having "unique heart" something or other.. but they're mostly diamonds…
