How do I stick stud earrings on a teddy bear as a surprise gift to my gf?

How do I stick stud earrings on a bear as a surprise gift to my gf?

I bought stud earrings for my gf. But I was planning to put them on a teddy bear's ears such as from build a bear as a different way to present them as a gift. But how should I go about putting them on the bear cause they are stud earrings and I dont want to ruin them.

Be careful. If the stud is too small or the ear is too thick, it will ruin the earrings. My suggestion? If you are going to do it, stick the ears with a needle first and twist them enough that there is a big enough hole in the ears for the stud to slide in.

How do I replace the jewelry in my tragus piercing?

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

I had to take out my tragus piercing recently for a CAT scan, and I have had difficulty putting the the ring back in because it's so small. Does anyone have any hints for putting jewelry in a tragus piercing? It's a small, stainless steel ring with a ball.

ask a professional peircer, if you go to a peircing place they will probably be willing to put it in for you.

What kind of earrings should I use to pierce my second holes?

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

And no, I can't get it done professionally cause my mom won't let me. I don't get why cause there are so many worst things I could possibly ask to pierce but anyways… I don't know what kind of earring I should use. Should I use these gold pearl earrings that look kind of ugly or buy a sterling silver one at claire's?

There should be stainless steel piercing studs, with a sharp tip,
Wipe your ear with alcohol and rub it with a piece of ice then pierce the ear. I recommend marking the spot where you are going to pierce with a marker and check the evenness of the holes before piercing them. you can always change the earrings after they heal, it depends on how sensitive your ears are.

How do I make the flat, wide string bracelets my friends have at school?

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

So you know about the bracelets teen girls are making now, the wide, flat ones made from embroidery thread. I want to make one, how would I do that? Any good site, or tell me yourself. I can't ask my friends to make one for me, cuz everyone asks them and I don't want them to have another person wanting one after all the other girls who do.

When you learn from the making friends site, check these out for great patterns:

How do you store your earrings and necklaces?

Monday, March 16th, 2009

I have big funky earrings and necklaces and i find that all the jewelery boxes i put them in, they get tangled. how do you store yours?

Necklaces – a pinboard could be a great place to hang your necklaces on and it would look arty too.

Earrings – Get a large bowl and hang your earrings around the edges – you can put other things from your dressing table inside the bowl.

What is a polite way to word a jewelry party invitation?

Monday, March 16th, 2009

My mom is hosting a jewelry party on a Saturday morning and serving brunch. She is new to the neighborhood and wants to get to know the ladies in the "hood." What is a polite way for me to word the inviitations so that the ladies do not bring their children? With out offending anyone…

Thanks!
She is trying to get to know women in the neighborhood. She is not trying to make money. Just thought the jewelry would be an ice breaker and conversation starter. None of this neighborhood socializes with each other.

BLING BRUNCH

I look forward to meeting the other ladies in the neighborhood on Saturday. Please join me for brunch and view some exciting new jewelry too. This will be a great opportunity for you to get some "away" time from your children and relax!

What are those cotton string bracelets everyone is wearing?

Monday, March 16th, 2009

They are like big, thick bracelets. You weave them and they then shrink in water and are bound to your arm. Most are tan colored and people wear them as anklets and bracelets. They are also more popular in the East Coast.
What are they called, if they have a name?
Plus, exactly what kind of cotton string are they made from?

They are typically called sailor knot bracelets (or nantucket bracelets) and they are really popular during the summer.

How to clean scented sachets stuffed with lavender or aroma beads?

Monday, March 16th, 2009

I have a bunch of dusty old sachets, some of which still have a faint smell, and one of which I've had since I was a baby & am keeping for sentimental value. I figure throwing them in the washer will clean them but get rid of any scent.

How do I clean them & possibly renew the scent? Some of them can be untied to pull out beads & cotton. Others are pillows or little stuffed animals that can't be opened without tearing seams.

Thanks for any advice on the topic!

I had some that I cleaned.

I opened them up and hand washed them in a sink.

Once dry I decided to buy fresh dried Lavender instead of using the old Lavender that I had saved. It gave it a much stronger smell. I also have one that has dried rose blossoms, but also added a little rose oil to keep the smell fresh!

I then sewed them back up. I love the scent when I open my drawers.

Hope this helps!
