what kind of jewelry is appropriate for a teacher to wear to work?

Sunday, July 26th, 2009

I am specifically asking about earrings. I have just recently started wearing them, and from what I’ve seen, in different jobs, what is appropriate varies from job to job.

Too broad of a question. Was there something specific you wanted to wear? – What?

What jewellery does a man wear on the beach?

Sunday, July 26th, 2009

My wife, kids and I are going to Lanzarote for our holidays in a month’s time. It’s the first time for some years that we’ve been abroad. At home, I wear a gold neck chain, earring and nipple ring. If I’m on the beach wearing just a pair of shorts do I keep my jewellery, ditch some or all of it or get and wear something different?

ore often men don’t wear jewelries on the beach they often wear Polaroid sunglasses or an ordinary one this can keep them away from too much sun

What is the best type of string to use to make friend ship bracelets?

Sunday, July 26th, 2009

Include a link to a picture so I can see what it looks like. I would also like a link to a free web sites with instructions on how to make friendship bracelets.

DMC embroidery floss is used to make braided bracelets. Wal Mart, Joann fabrics and any craft store will carry it. Your library should have how to books

what is the best way to store beads and jewellery making?

Sunday, July 26th, 2009

i’v been beading for 1 year and have so many beads and tools and findings and don’t know how to store them and what is the best brand of tools to get thanks .

Just get one of those boxes for storing screws and bolts from your local DIY store.
Far cheaper than stuff sold for it at arts/crafts stores.

They also have quality small pliers and stuff for electrical and electronics use which should work well for you.
You don’t need really good ones either. They’re designed for far rougher treatment than you’ll ever put them to. Just make sure they’re comfortable.

How can you create a website to sell handcrafted jewelry?

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

My wife makes beautiful jewelry. We have a dba and we are now looking to sell it online. We are looking for a good reasonably priced website.

If you aren’t looking to hire someone to build the site or code it yourself, you should consider using Office Live Small Business from Microsoft to build your website. It is template based so you don’t have to know any coding languages yourself, and you can add all the features you need to sell the jewelry online like a shopping cart and paypal widget.

Good Luck,

How to start retail jewellery business?

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

I am planning to start my own retail silver jewellery business in UK. i have contacts with manufacturers in india. my question is where should i start from in UK? how to do marketing? get oreders etc?

How about becoming a seller on ebay, it’s a good starting point and its easy to check out the competition.
Also a friend of my sister ordered goods from china (jewelry bags etc) and had parties where people could buy items- it went really well because the prices were so good.

Where can I get those necklaces about love that are split in half?

Sunday, July 19th, 2009

Uhhh, I want to know where I can buy those necklaces that are about love or whatever. You know, the ones that when you put together, they create one heart or something because each is split in the middle.

Those are really cool! Do you guys know a legit place where I can get them? Preferably via mail.

Hot Topic has some pretty cool ones, and you could go to their online store and have it delivered to your house.
These would be good ones:

or

you could get two of these:

What is the difference between rhinestone and crystal jewelry? Sometimes it looks the same if stones are clear?

Sunday, July 19th, 2009

If the stones are clear I can’t tell the difference. How do I know which one is which? Is it different for older or costume jewelry? Thanks for your help!

Crystal is the highest quality glass, containing at least 10% lead oxide. It has therefore the best sparkle and durability of all glass varieties. Rhinestones used to be rock quartz, the clear quartz variety, but later it is just a name for all faceted glass, crystal or just glass. The older ‘rhinestone’ jewelry used to be of much higher quality that anything made lately. There are still pieces around that are 180 years old and older and they still sparkle beautifully. The older crystals are usually called ‘paste’. I doubt if you will be able to see a big difference between lead crystal and glass.
