Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

HI im from london and i’m going to New York next Month. I’m looking to get the ball set Jewellery from the Tiffiany store while i’m out their and just wondering if the store is cheaper then London the prices out here are £120 for the Bracelet and £170 for the necklace?
I have tried finding the Tiffany website for the US but i can’t find it. Does any one know what it is?

I would say it is "a little" cheaper in the U.S….you can check them online and they surely show the price of the jewelry that you’re interested in.

How should I accessorize a navy sheath dress with a lace and bead overdress for my sister’s wedding in Peru?

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

Wedding is in October, so it’s spring there.
My sister doesn’t know how dressy anyone will be.
My other sister said not to wear navy shoes.
I just found out my closed-over pierced ears CAN wear earrings!
I’m 39.

Hi! I answered at TP, too! Too bad you can’t post a picture or a link to a picture of your dress, but I was thinking what about something like this:

Can my cheap jewelry be plated with sterling silver?

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

I have a few pieces of cheap jewelry that I bought at places like Claire’s and H&M that are made out of nickel or copper but were coated with some kind of silver coating. This coating is now coming off, turning bluish, irritating my skin and smelling pretty bad. But, these are my favorite pieces of jewelry and I’d like to continue wearing them. Can I take them to a jewelry store and have them plated with sterling silver? How much would that cost?

yes it sure can it will cost about 100 dollars

Can anyone tell me how I go about silver jewellery party planning?

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

Hi Everyone,
I own a jewellery website which I’ve just started marketing in my local newspaper and had no response at all and believe that perhaps I targeted the market blindly or competion is fierce.

I have now decided to go into party planning where people actually
see and feel the products and I will also sell watches and handbags.

I have spoken to a ann summers party planner which is always taking bookings for parties and is keen to sell my products.

I will also get other party planners involved in this.

Can anyone out there give me some advice on this matter and how I go about party planning?

Thank you very much

Hmm – Local Newspapers never had much response with this medium.

Jewellery has become a very competitive market – just look at the number of shopping channels selling Jewellery direct into peoples homes.

Like the sound of the Silver Jewellery Parties though – what with Christmas on the horizon! Your not alone in using Parties as method to market Jewellery though, just type "jewellery parties" into google.

Two ways you could approach this either as a franchise have people host your Silver Jewellery Parties, paid for on a commission basis or rewarded with free Jewellery for sales of a certain level.

Or you could run them yourself initially, to get an idea of how they work.

Research your local area looking for households that can afford your product. Maybe even Retirement homes where people can’t get out a lot.

Create an event that’s fun, around a theme – Silver Jewellery for the Party Season – for instance.

Once your ready post a flyer through the doors of your target market (Make sure the flyer looks the part) either inviting them along to your party or inviting them to host their own.

Anyway maybe others will give you some further ideas.

Below are a couple of websites offering similar.

Good luck

How do i stop my friendship bracelets from spiraling?

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

Whenever i make bracelets they always end up in the pattern i want but they spiral instead of laying flat. How do i stop this from happening?

This is just the way friendship bracelets are. They spiral, because of the knotting pattern. My advice to you is to try not knotting it so tight. Make it a little looser, but not so loose that you can see the strings. And, to flatten it you can soak in hot water for a second, then squish under some heavy textbooks (with a towel sandwiching it of course!).
