How practical is silver jewellery in the long term?

Friday, October 30th, 2009

I have seen some stunning silver jewellery recently, really really beautiful. In particular a really lovely wedding band. My concern is, does it not scratch easily, tarnish and look dull after a little while?

After a few years of marriage and wearing it day in day out, would it look terrible?

Its not a cost thing, i just like silver and would like this particular
wedding band :)

I know nothing about silver, or silver care, so any advice would be amazing :)

silver jewellery is very practical for regular use and long term.It always looks clean and shiny and does not lose much value over time.as for cleaning if it starts to look dull get some vinegar and washing up liquid and it will shine like new rinse in cold water .but it could be years before it will need that good luck.

how do i find out about how to burn metal jewellery from a digital or regular photo?

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

i was at a craft show on the weekend and had my grand-daughters picture taken digitally at a booth and they burnt it into a piece of jewellery while i waited. I want to find out how to go about setting up a similar business but i dont know what to do. Can anybody help??

Do you have a lot of knowledge about Jewelry, metal and digital photos? Do you have a lot of money and time to invest in your product? Do you have any business skills? Who would be your target market?

If you just thought that it was neat trick and you could make money doing it and you know nothing about it then the chances are that you won’t. Usually Entrepreneur’s take a problem, product or service and find a way to make or perform it better and more efficient. If you saw this product at a craft show then that is a good indication that they are not making a substantial amount of money from it. If you have a lot of money and you feel strongly about their product, I suggest contacting them and find out if you could go into business with them.

If a boy wants to look like a girl?

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

Okay, so, lately, I really want to:

1. Grow my hair out to my shoulders. I want layers and highlights. I want long hair!
2. Start wearing tighter clothes. Skinny jeans for example.
3. I want my ears pierced, I want to be able to wear jewelry.

Heres the thing. I’m a boy, but these are things girls do. I kind of want to look like a girl. What does this mean, and how should I go about it?

This may mean you’re a cross-dresser, or maybe transgendered. I think it’s important to think about whether you just want to look like a girl, or whether you want to BE a girl. But most importantly, just try not to worry. Be around people who are supportive of who you are and try not to worry about what other people think. As for how you should go about it, it seems like you have a pretty good idea! Those three steps sound like a good place to start.

You can always look for local resources for people who are differently-gendered, people who don’t fit into society’s ideas of what you should look or act like just because you were born male. Not every city has them, but if you don’t live in a big city, look for one in the biggest city nearby. For example, in Tucson, Arizona we have Southern Arizona Gender Alliance.

Good luck to you!

Does anyone have any wholesale suppliers of beads for jewellery making? I hear China can be good?

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

I want to find wholesalers or manufacturers that can provide a wide range of beads from acrylics, glass, crystal, pearls and finding at competive prices so I can create jewellery and also resell beads as kits in craft markets? I know many companies buy from china but I cannot find suppliers and dont know how to go about it to buy from China. Does anyone have any links or good suppliers?
Any suggestions would be a great help thanks all

There are several Chinese trading marketplaces which operate in English. For instance, you could try to subscribe to Trade Alerts (free service – e.g. here: http://cdetc.com/tradealerts.php ) – enter terms to monitor (acrylic beads or glass beads or crystal beads – you got the idea) and receive alerts when matching lead from a supplier appears. By setting up free account, you’ll be able to post your own buying leads, too.

Those marketplaces show huge turnovers, in particular between Chinese suppliers and US buyers – so all import matters are well known, and people there are friendly and willing to help newbies – just spend some time and communicate with people.

Where or how do I find silver jewellery wholesalers in Taxco Mexico?

Sunday, October 18th, 2009

I’m going to Taxco soon and wondered how I go about finding genuine wholesalers who sell sterling silver jewellery by weight. Searching on the internet only results in a few companies who claim to be wholesalers, but in reality sell for retail prices. If I’m going to buy stock, I’d like the money to benefit local people/artisans.

Go to the Commerce Chamber of Taxco or the Silver jewelers association.

How Do I promote my Jewellery store Any ideas?

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

Hello
i have a jewellery store of branded jewellery including diamonds gold and white gold jewellery and wanted to promote it at nominal price and increase sales so please tell me any ideas and increase customer footfall
Well i am just a local reseller and not in online business i need ideas like newspaper advert and other things to promote my local sales

Call a reporter for the local newspaper. Ask if she will interview you about your business. Those articles usually run in the Saturday paper.

If that works, offer to go on the local tv station’s morning show at 6am. Take some pieces of jewelry to talk about.

You might get discovered by the community.

How do I buy webspace for a website?

Monday, October 12th, 2009

I have started a business selling some of my nifty crafts- doll wings, doll jewelry, human sized wings, human sized jewelry, cute animal ear hats, plushies, and other things.

I want to create a website for my items where I can display them and where I can sell them. I have a really good friend who has promised to create the site for me if I buy the space for the website. I have heard of places like homestead that rent out space for a fee every month. ($30 per month) but I am looking to actually buy the webspace… So my question is, where is the best place to buy from and how to I go about it?

Thanks ahead of time for the answers!

Try godaddy.com or bravenet.com

I want to sell jewellery, shoes, bags from Indonesia in the USA. What is the best way without setting a shop?

Friday, October 9th, 2009

I am thinking about setting up a business in the USA importing very beautifully crafted Indonesian jewellery (necklaces, rings, bracelets), shoes/sandals, hand bags, printed table cloths, knick-knacks etc — all made by the locals with cultural significance. I’m not sure what’s the best way to establish a customer base to start selling these items and how to expand on it.

You may want to try this website www.alibaba.com, it is a web trading site, there is a forum where people give quit good advise how to deal with trading world wide, especially the financial part as all international purchases are paid upfront there is likely quit a bit of money involved. So you need to be very carefull whom and what you deal with when you import.

Then I am sure that there are import regulations from Indonesia to the US, maybe in the form of taxes or duties, logistic expenses and so forward, be very carefull as many people have lost a lot of money "cause they were not well prepared. Remember that crooks are only the most friendliest people until they get your money.
And I am only talking about getting your products from Indonesia, re-selling in the US is a different story when you want to sell on the Internet that is, if you open a shop that will be easier to control.

How can i register a company name for a jewellery selling business?

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

Me and my partner are setting up a jewellery selling business, we are a bit unsure of the things we need to do to get started. We have a name so we need to register the name but we are not sure which website to go to for this so it is legitimate. There seem to be so many. Also do we need to register with companies house? Any advise would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

you need to go to your local small business offices and register your business name and get a business license, if you are doing this from home it should be an easy thing to handle, less than $200 bucks. Good luck!
