What is your most desired style of jewellery?

There was a time when you wore jewellery as a way to show your wealth – so the more gold the better you felt. But jewellery is now worn more to reflect your personality and so it is now made in many materials. The value now is when it is special to you and – even better – hand made and exclusive. What do you think?

i just wear my wedding ring and a bangle that i had made for me out of gold, that i had been given by special people over many years, that had got broken or damaged, i have my mum's wedding ring and a ring of my dad's in it which makes it priceless to me as they died years ago and this way i always feel close to them. and a blue topaz ring my dad got me for passing my driving test, i never take those three things off.

I have a charm bracelet that is just perfect, as it is so individual that no-one could ever have the same one as me! I also like to mix and match earings, it looks dead funky!

There will always be a place for luxury goods, and with luxury comes 18ct gold and platinum pieces. My personal favourite stone is tanzanite, and the metal of choice at the moment is platinum. I work in a jewellers and I have not seen a decline for these kind of pieces, in fact I have seen a rise in people wanting this kind of jewellery as peoples incomes get larger.
